Happy Mommie Dearest Day

Happy Mother's Day!

Would Mother's Day weekend be complete without showing the "no more wire hangers!!" scene from MOMMIE DEAREST? That's like Christmas without IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE or BAD SANTA.

So here is Faye Dunaway in her most over-the-top, out-of-control, laughable performance ever (which is saying something). The scene that's the absolute gold standard for atrocious acting everywhere.

George C. Scott said that whenever he saw himself described as "a bravura actor," he knew that meant he was chewing the scenery.

Oh, crap, that reminds me I need to pick up some flowers and Prozac for mom this weekend.

Now THAT's the mask I want for Halloween this year!

She stopped just short of calling the poor kid a "stupid little pig."

Can we get the Alec Baldwin audio for Fathers Day? Please, Daddy?

It may be bad acting, but I'll tell you what; I haven't used a wire hanger since seeing that movie!

Why waste time rapping schlock when you could be creating something worthwhile.

Because schlock reminds you of how far along you are in your own work, and it's fun to look at.

Hey anonymous, shut the fuck up. You obviously don't get the intent of this blog. It's not some high minded artistic forum where important art is discussed. It's a place to meet and have a few laughs. Nothing short of cruelty to children and animals is out of bounds and good taste is ignored on a regular basis -- kind of like a writing room. So if you don't like what you see, just move on or wait for the next fun thing to pop up. Otherwise, like I said, STFU.

BTW Faye Dunaway won an oscar. Not for that role, but still... Further proof that the academy awards are stupid.

Actually, Ken, I am feeling a little sorry for you...as this is your first Mother's Day without your mother.

Over-acting is awesome.

There is some hilariously bad acting in this one (slightly NSFW):
